Hey Family! Let's Get Together Again!

It's been over 20 years since our last family reunion, and our family has grown so much! The reunion tradition that began with Willie George White and Willie Travis White is being revived by their descendants.

Start the day relaxing by the water. Bring your fishing gear, lawn chairs, and enjoy great conversations with family.

Our Roots — The Travis White Story

December 25, 1904

Travis White is born in Cass, Texas, to William and Eva White.

First Child

Willie George White, born to Travis and Lela Mae Abney.

1928

Travis marries Idalia Cook.

January 2, 1937

Travis marries Bessie Lee Harper in Miller, Arkansas.

Eight Children

Travis and Bessie Lee have eight children: Elva Lois, Doris Fay, Ruby Lee, Wanda Faye, Linda Ann, Linda Sue, Phyllis Anne, and Willie Travis.

July 1, 1957

Travis White passes away at age 52, leaving behind a legacy that has grown to over 1,700 documented descendants.

A sweet treat to try before the reunion

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

Easy Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 can (20 oz) pineapple slices in juice
  • ~18 maraschino cherries (6-oz jar)
  • Brown sugar
  • Betty Crocker Super Moist Yellow Cake Mix
  • Butter
  • Large eggs
  • Vegetable oil

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Make glaze with butter and brown sugar in a baking pan.
  3. Arrange pineapple slices and cherries over the brown sugar.
  4. Prepare cake batter using pineapple juice, oil, and eggs.
  5. Pour batter over fruit.
  6. Bake at 350°F for approximately 45 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Flip cake onto a heatproof platter; cool 30–60 minutes.
Storage Tip: Cover with plastic wrap; refrigerate up to 3 days. Not recommended for freezing.
